Ms. Doggett's Class Newsletter

February

Hello Parents,

The 3rd Quarter of the school year has begun and we are working hard! These past couple of weeks have been short, but that hasn't slowed 5th grade down! I hope everyone enjoyed the unexpected snow days and were able to spend some time outside.

February is a busy month, so please check out "Upcoming Dates" below to see what's coming up!

I will be sending home a class list for any students who want to bring valentines in for Valentine's Day. Students can bring in valentines on Friday, February 12th.

Have a wonderful week,

Ms. Doggett

Science

This past week, we began our Matter Unit. We will revisit the different states of matter and learn about the different properties of matter. Students will explore the difference between a chemical and physical change, and have the opportunity to see several examples of each.

Students have continued to watch a daily weather forecast and track the weather using a weather chart. I encourage watching the weather with your child and asking them what they're observing in class.

We will start our next unit, Force and Motion, after we are finished with Matter.
