The NRA or National Recovery Association was established to stimulate business recovery through fair-practice codes. Although, it ultimately failed.

Led by Hugh Johnson, the NRA passed 557 basic codes, 208 supplementary codes, abolished child labor, and established regulatory laws for minimum wage and hours.

Although they seemed to be ultimately successful, the Supreme Court invalidated them in 1935 due to hasty and overcomplicated laws.
