1895: Cuban War for Independence

1) The U.S. was interested because they wanted to write about the struggles of Cuban people and bring it to Americas attention.


2)The leaders of Cuban revolution were Maximo Gomez,Calixto Garcia, and Jose Marti.


Gomez wanted to make Cuba free and he became the military leader of the Cuban revolution in 1895.


Garcia was an Cuban insurgents, and was a big part of the U.S. military's success in Cuba.


Marti was an Cuban émigré, and organized the Cigarworkers Party. He was killed in 1895 and became a hero to the Cuban people.
