In The News...
In reading this week, we focused on informational text and talked a lot about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. The kids were very interested in these two presidents and learned a lot of information about them. They wrote facts about each president and we had great discussions throughout the week. On Mar. 6th we will be Skyping with park rangers from President Lincoln's home in Illinois. The kids and I are so excited for this and can't wait to learn even more about our 16th president.
In Math we continued to work with 2D shapes. We had fun in math stations. The kids are really starting to understand the difference between defining attributes and non-defining attributes. Next week we will begin exploring 3D shapes.
We are so super excited about celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday on Thursday, Mar. 2nd. I hope they've already thought about which of his characters they are going to dress up as! Mrs. Brown and I have many fun things planned for the kids; it will be a day of learning, fun and celebrations. Don't forget your child can bring Dr. Seuss books to class next week to read.
Make sure you scroll down to the NOTES section for more important information. Y'all have a great weekend!
Take Care,
Ms. Gower

- Dr. Seuss Day- Make sure the kids come dressed up on Thursday as one of his/her favorite Dr. Seuss characters.
- Book Fair- This starts next week. We will be previewing the book fair on Wednesday and making our wish lists =)
- New Furniture- I hope the kids have shared with you about our new classroom furniture and flex seating. I purchased all new seating for my classroom over track out (yes, it was pretty expensive). It was something I wanted and knew that my kids needed. So far it is working out great and the kids are loving it. Stop by and take a peek sometime. It's really neat!
WSES- Embracing the needs of every child!
