AQUIDNECK LIBRARY MAKERSPACE
STEAM and LIBRARY--SEPTEMBER 2021
Welcome Back to Sharkie's Library Makerspace!
STEAM and Library classes have begun in Sharkie's Library Makerspace!
- In STEAM, students know that there is no STEAM without TEAM--and explored how to make KIND choices as they work collaboratively, while critically and creatively thinking through their STEAM projects!
- In Library, students have learned responsible book care and how to check out books. By the end of this week, students in all grades will have borrowed a book from the library!
Each Grade came up with their own Library & STEAM Pledge--all students signed them!
Creating a STEAM TEAM Community
All grades discussed how teamwork is important to complete the STEAM challenges. They then made class STEAM TEAM projects! ASK your student about their Class STEAM TEAM project!

FIRST STEAM ENGINEERING PROJECT
Can you build a house using Keva Planks--as a TEAM? BUT, students then had to pick a specific type of house, out of the ASK bag! This was a team building exercise to encourage the students to work TOGETHER for a common goal! The results were fantastic--look below at some examples!

Monthly Book Recommendation:
Check out the book: The Scarecrow, written by Beth Ferry. Goodreads states--"Bestselling author Beth Ferry and the widely acclaimed Fan Brothers present this tender and affectionate tale that reminds us of the comforting power of friendship and the joy of helping others." Enjoy this fall favorite of mine!
