Tonight is QUIZ NIGHT! - We look forward to our biggest ever Quiz Night tonight with 23 quiz teams competing! Will the teachers win or will the parents finally beat them?!

Tues 11 Mar – Year 10 GCSE Drama at Maidenhead Drama Festival - Norden Farm 7.30pm

Wed 12 Mar - Senior Girls Concert - for performers in Years 7-13, 7pm. A reminder that parents wishing their daughter to stay at School between 5pm and 6.30pm must return the slip by Monday 10 March and remember to send a packed tea.

Sat 15 March, Easter Egg Hunt at Junior Boys, order forms can be left in our School Office until next Wednesday when the Pay Portal closes, and, from then on, last minute tickets will be on sale in our School Office.

Saturday 15 March - Race Night in aid of the Claires Court Boat Club: this fun event starts at 7pm at Senior Boys. Tickets are £10 and include a fish and chip supper. A cash bar will also be in operation.

Tues 18 Mar – Open Morning on all 3 sites, 9.30 – 12pm (11.30 finish for Nursery)

Wed 19 Mar – Sports’ Teams, Years 6 and 11 Class Photos please ensure that sports kit and uniform are clean and ironed for the photos! Thank you.

Tues 25 Mar 7pm - Joint Junior Concert at Junior Boys. All students in Years 3-6 will be involved. A letter has been sent home inviting parents to book seats for the concert which will be held at Junior Boys. The slip also requires permission for girls to travel by coach to JB for rehearsals and should be returned by Monday 10 March.

ADVANCE DATES:

Wed 26 Mar – Year 11 Parents’ Evening 6pm – a letter will be sent home next week.

Fri 28 Mar – Years 10 & 11 GCSE Drama Festival at Hurst Lodge – a letter has been sent home.

FUTURE EVENTS

Mon 7 – Thurs 17 Apr: Holiday Club, along with Art & Craft Club and Drama Club are running this Easter holiday at the Girls & Nursery site. Sports Club at Cannon Lane is joining in with various activities, operating on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of both weeks. Visit the website for more information.

LIBRARY NEWS

Senior and Junior Reading Panels

There will be Reading Panel meetings in the Junior and Senior Libraries next week, so please can all members look out for their personal invitations! Our selected members discuss and judge a range of new books on offer and then help the Librarians choose which fiction titles make it to the library shelves next term. If you are interested, come along and register with your Librarian.

World Book Day 2014 - Free Books!

What better way to celebrate World Book Day, than with a brand new book… for free?!! Junior and Senior girls exchanged their £1 Book Tokens for a specially published story supplied by Waterstones and WH Smith. Visit the website to see all the 2014 World Book Day books on offer.

Senior Book Club: Special Guest

Senior Book Club members welcomed a special mystery guest this week… Mr Paul Bevis! Our Head Teacher described his own reading journey from 'Janet and John' to Ian Rankin and from sci-fi to Kafka, demonstrating how to be a truly adventurous reading explorer!

Tues 11 March – Year 8 History Trip to National Army Museum – The group will leave School at 9am and return for approximately 4.30pm. Pupils should be in uniform and will require a packed lunch. consents were due by today, Friday 7 March.

Tues 11 Mar - Years 3 to 6 (teams of 4 girls and 4 boys) General Knowledge Quiz – (rescheduled) at Elstree School; consents were due by Wednesday 5 March.

Tues 11 Mar - Year 5 History/PHSCE to St Mark’s BUPA Nursing Home: girls will visit residents and ask them about their experiences during the war. Consents were due by today Friday 7 March.

Thurs 13 Mar - Year 5 to Maidenhead Synagogue: the coach will leave at 9.40am and return by 11am. Consents were due by today Friday 7 March.

Thurs 13 Mar - Years 7 and 8 Science Clubs to Big Bang Fair at NEC: the group will leave at 7.30am and return by 6.30pm, subject to traffic! Girls should be in uniform and take a packed lunch and small amount of spending money.

NOTES AND REMINDERS

Fri 25 April - Year 10 History trip to Ypres, payment and consent were due Friday 28 February and many are still outstanding. Please arrange your payment immediately if you have not already done so.

LANGUAGE TRIP IN OCTOBER 2014 - there are still some places available to book!
