Matching Fall Outfits with Bae
Should you dress to match your partner’s style and look like a power couple? Or just wear whatever you want? Matching as a couple is more geared towards dressing well as a unit. It’s always nice to match your significant other once in a while, especially if it’s for a special occasion. Occasionally it’s nice to coordinate your outfit with bae so you guys are dressed at about the same level of formality. We wouldn’t want to be going on a date and for the woman to show up in a beautiful dress, nice shoes and full make up while the guy shows up in a t-shirt, denim shorts and sneakers. Cute couple outfits are a fun way to get creative and show your affection for one another while staking claim to your lover. Here are a few ideas on how to match bae.
The Classic Leather Jacket
A classic leather jacket can last you a lifetime and remain one of the most popular forms of outerwear. Did I mention that they’re a fall wardrobe staple for women and men? The leather jacket is a versatile item of clothing that’s been on trend since the beginning of time and will never go out of fashion. You can truly style a leather jacket with almost everything, but I’d say if you’re planning on matching with bae keep it simple. Ladies, you can style it with a turtleneck, denim jeans and boots, while the men can style it with a t-shirt, denim jeans and Dr. Martens.
Dressed to Impress in Burgundy
If you’re looking to match bae this fall, you’ll want to focus on fall colors. Fall is the time to transition your wardrobe from bright neons, pastels, and airy fabrics to darker colors and cozier knits. An essential fall color that should not be overlooked is burgundy. This velvet dress is perfect for a special night out with bae, whether it’s out dinner, a play or private event. Pair it with black heels and silver earrings to add some pizazz to your look and you’re good to go. Fellas, you can match her fly with a burgundy button-up paired with black dress pants.
Attend a Sporting Event in a Windbreaker
Fall calls for pumpkin patches, caramel apples, brightly colored leaves and fall fashion. And did I mention football Sundays? The perfect football Sunday is one where you gather with all your friends and family, feast on some delicious grub and just watch football all day long. Or if you’re lucky you get to tailgate before watching your favorite team place front and center. This is where the windbreakers come into play. A windbreaker is a lightweight that lets you stay warm in a chilling climate as well as keeps your body protected against rain or wind. Pair these windbreakers with a hoodie underneath, sweatpants or jeans and sneakers. Rock this look with bae to your next football game.
The Traditional Grey Cardigan
Can you really go through fall without a grey cardigan? Asking for a friend. Cardigans create a timeless, effortless look. Whether you’re sporting a short, long, heavy, or light cardigan, you’ll find that throwing on that third piece really makes the difference in pulling the entire look together. Besides isn’t the fall/winter season all about layering? The best part about cardigans is that you can easily dress them up or down. If you’re planning on investing in a good cardigan, I’d say go for the grey – it’s a classic for both men and women. Gents, you can pair your cardigan with a plain black tee and vans. Ladies, I’d match your lover boy by pairing it with a high neck ribbed bodysuit and trainers.
The Simplistic Look
Paying careful attention to the style of your t-shirt is just as important as any other part of your wardrobe. I always prefer to keep it casual with v-neck t-shirts. Ladies, I would wear it with my favorite pair of jeans and add a pair of knee boots for the perfect casual and comfy look. If you want to make your look a bit edgier – add a fedora hat and denim jacket for some pizzazz. Gents, I’d go a similar route to your lady’s outfit and keep it simple – denim jeans, sneakers and a denim jacket. The ideal look to go on a date to a pumpkin patch or apple picking.
Fall’s Favorite Pattern: Plaid
Plaid is for all my maximalists. When paired with other plaids, it becomes eye-catching and statement-making. Plaid-on-plaid feels fun, bold and daring. But if you’re looking to ease into the pattern, I’d say just go with one plaid piece, such as a dress, a top or trousers. This plaid dress and matching button-down shirt for bae are the perfect blend of head-turning and holiday appropriate, making them a great option for any upcoming parties on your calendar. I’d wear these matching outfits to Thanksgiving dinner with each other’s fam.
Matching Cozy Sherpa Jackets
If you’re still looking for cozy and comfy outfit ideas for this fall/winter, then it’s time you invest in one of the warmest most stylish jackets – the sherpa. You can’t go wrong with matching a plaid black and red sherpa jacket to make a statement with bae anywhere you go. Ladies, I would pair this sherpa jacket with black denim jeans and white heel booties (with black laces). Fellas, I would pair this men’s jacket with a plain black tee, denim jeans and sneakers or black doc martens. Wear your matching jackets on an adventure to a Halloween haunted house or asylum.
