Look Ahead
Updating Your iPad to iOS 9
The district has now UNBLOCKED the Apple update server so CISD iPads can now be updated to iOS 9… we are already finding some apps that will not work w/out the update, so it is recommended that you go ahead w/ the update… this weekend or early this week.
Please run the update AT HOME while your iPad is plugged into power and on your home WIFI – this will help keep our school wifi from getting bogged down w/ all the update traffic!
Steps to update:
- SETTINGS / GENERAL / SOFTWARE UPDATE / INSTALL NOW
- Wait while the update is loaded and installed… this may take 10-15 minutes or longer!
- Your iPad will re-start
Once the update is complete
- Click on CONTINUE
- Click on GUEST
- Click to ENABLE LOCATION SERVICES
- Enter your iTunes password – the one w/ the upper and lower case and at least one number! … click NEXT.
- At the iCloud Keychain prompt, I would suggest that you click on “Don’t Restore Passwords” / Continue
- Click Get Started
SETTINGS
- PRIVACY – Confirm that Location Services are ON
- BLUETOOTH – it is suggested to turn this OFF unless you need it for a Bluetooth keyboard or other Bluetooth device
- WI-FI – Change back to CISD Wireless
- VPN – Confirm VPN turned back ON**
