Looking for FFA Jackets
If you have any nice, older FFA jackets you no longer need, and would like to donate, we would be happy to have them. We are trying to collect jackets for student use.
If you have borrowed an FFA jacket from the Smithville FFA Chapter in the past, we ask that you please return it to the high school for other students to use.
Thank you in advance for continuing to support the Smithville FFA.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email Mr. Viebrock (viebrocj@smithville.k12.mo.us)
From the Nurse
Reminder from the Nurse
Students requiring early dismissal for doctor’s appointments, family reasons, etc. must have a
parent/guardian notify the office or send the student with a written note in order for the student to be issued a pass to leave school. Students who do not feel well during the day must see the nurse before leaving school or will be considered truant.
Students who participate in athletics or other extracurricular activities and leave during the school day for medical/ dental appointments must turn in a confirmation note from their medical provider when they return in order to be eligible to participate in their activity that evening. Students who have missed part of the day without a medical or other excusable event, will not be allowed to participate in their event/practice that evening.

Smithville School District Holiday Help 2022
It is that time of year when we share out all the gifts that are needed and requested from our families and students. If you could each partner with the Social Worker to provide a gift for a kid and or help her get the sign out to others you know that would want to take part in helping others.
We are Not all in the same BOAT. We are all in the same STORM. Some have yachts some have canoes and some are drowning. We have a community that is always rising up to help others here in Smithville. I am requesting that you partner with the Smithville School District once again in 2022 to bring others to dry land where they can enjoy their family and have a nice Holiday. Let's help conquer the waves others are facing together by providing gifts for their children.
The link below can be copied and shared out to access the list for 2022.

It's free to apply to UMKC for the Fall 2023 semester
Until June, UMKC is waiving the $45 application fee for all domestic undergraduate students applying for the Fall 2023 semester. That means students can apply to UMKC for free!
To submit application materials on behalf of your students electronically, you may email admissions@umkc.edu or use Slate.org. Slate.org is a free platform designed to strengthen communication between undergraduate admission offices, school counselors, community-based organizations and students during the college search and application process. Two full-tuition & fees scholarships available at UMKC
Your students may be eligible for two of our biggest scholarships – the Henry W. Bloch Scholars Program and the Marion H. Bloch Scholars Program. These scholarships both provide full tuition and fees for up to five years.
These awards are available to ALL students entering a standard undergraduate program, not just those planning to enter the Bloch School. They’re also not just for Missouri students — Kansas students from Johnson and Wyandotte counties are eligible.
We hope you’ll encourage your students to explore these opportunities to help make their college goals more affordable, and recommend they apply by the deadlines listed.
If you or your students have any questions about either of the Bloch Scholars Programs, please contact the program director Marge Wight, at mwight@umkc.edu or 816-235-8654.
