Our team has been working around the clock to make this unusual year a great one for each student and here is an opportunity to say thank you! Learn more at www.hillsborochamberor.com/crystal-apple and submit nominations by Friday, Mar. 12.

Is your child a talented singer, dancer, musician, juggler, comedian, magician, or has a very special skill that others find entertaining? Yes, great!! We are looking for videos of Patterson kids sharing their talents for this year’s virtual talent show! Unlike the traditional talent show, there will not be any auditions, and the talent show will be broken up into 15 minute long broadcasts that will be shared with classrooms to be presented in the Morning Meetings of March. There are a few guidelines that need to be followed in video submissions:
The acts must be school-appropriate, and that includes the lyrics of any songs used.
The videos will be emailed to Mrs. Crackel at email@example.com, with the full name of the student, homeroom teacher’s name, parent’s name and phone number.
Each video should be under three minutes in length.
Videos should be turned in by March 1.
Please contact Mrs. Crackel at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you may have.
Parent Resource: Healthy Mind Platter
How can you keep your mind (and your kiddo) from experiencing the kind of collapse that can pull your body and sense of well-being down with it? Learn about the Healthy Mind Platter. Just like various food groups comprise a healthy diet, these seven (daily) activities are what our mind needs to function optimally.

February Focus: Active Engagement
We are focused building-wide on active engagement. Active engagement includes:
- Listening - joining live meetings, watching recorded lessons
- Joining the conversation - turning on the camera to give visual feedback to peers/teachers, verbally sharing ideas and asking questions, typing ideas and questions into the chat feature, sharing ideas in breakout rooms with peers
- Completing work in Google Classroom - carefully reading directions and learning targets and turning in completed work, asking questions using the comment feature, emailing or asking the teacher for help, joining the teacher for small groups and/or office hours to continue learning
We would love your support at home in reviewing these active engagement actions and joining us in positively recognizing your child/children when you see them doing these.
We highlighted active engagement and had some fun with our students during our virtual assembly in January - let's just say the kids were engaged and smiling when they saw their teachers singing and dancing. You can view our assembly here.
