A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
As you read this newsletter our Year 12's will have completed their last formal day of secondary school. The following is an excerpt from my farewell address at their assembly:
When I asked Mr Watson, the year group Deputy Principal, what is at the heart of this year group he responded by saying:
· They have always demonstrated a willingness to involve themselves in full College life.
· As a year group, they demonstrate a genuine care for one another
· They have a proven ability to deal with adversity
· There is a mix of outstanding talents and gifts
· A display of outstanding authentic personalities
· Highly respectful with a wonderful sense of humour
These collective qualities certainly echo the characteristics of a Prendivillian and the BIG HEARTED actions we encouraged everyone to respond to this year.
So Year 12 students, on behalf of everyone, we wish you well for an exciting joy filled life outside of school. We look forward to calling you by name at Graduation – a night where you will graduate a PRENDIVILLIAN. A person who serves with pride, leads with confidence and inspires others in a positive way.
For your children

PRINCIPAL REVIEW
You would be aware that our Principal, Mr Mark Antulov was reviewed under the Principal Review Process this year. The process involved the College Board, P&F Executive, the parish priest, staff members, Catholic Education personnel and the Principal. Their input was both in written form and verbally through interviews with the Review Panel. The review culminated in a meeting between the Principal and the Executive Director of the Catholic Education Western Australia, Dr Tim McDonald.
The process has now been completed and Archbishop Timothy Costelloe has endorsed the appointment of Mr Mark Antulov as Principal of Prendiville Catholic College, Ocean Reef for second contract period of five years.
As a result of the review, Mark has developed a professional growth plan which will ensure his continued development and benefit the future of the school.
On behalf of the School Board and the Prendiville Catholic College community, I congratulate Mark on the achievements over the last contract period and look forward to the future.
Mr Kevin Peterson

SOCIAL JUSTICE SUNDAY
We celebrate Social Justice Sunday on September 24th. This year, the Australian Bishops' Social Justice Statement is titled 'Everyone's Business: Developing an inclusive and sustainable economy'. The statement calls for an economy that is founded on justice and offers dignity and inclusion to every person.
For further details about the Social Justice Statement, visit the Australian Catholic Social Justice Council website or call (02) 8306 3499.
COLLEGE FAMILY FEE ACCOUNTS
The College Board developed a flexible solution for families to meet their child’s education costs by spreading the payments throughout the year. Unless arrangements have been made with the Finance Office, College Fee accounts must be finalised by 31 October 2017. The College has an obligation to meet their costs and require parents to honour their commitments to payment of their fee accounts.
As per the College Board Policy, outstanding accounts with no arrangements in place, may reluctantly be sent to a private debt collection agency. This course of action may incur additional fees and charges that are payable by the family. I urge any family that are currently experiencing genuine financial stress and are unable to meet their commitment, to contact the College Finance Officer Mrs Hernon on 9301 6242 to arrange an appointment.

CINDERELLA PROJECT
A big thank you to Miss Jade Charles and her Year 11 students who organised and collected the donations for the Cinderella Project. Thank you also to Ms Marie Graystone, who is always supportive, and Mrs Grace Cassidy, who also was a great support and helped me wheel the trolley to my car every week with these amazing dresses.
We have been overwhelmed by everyone in the Prendiville community who donated these gorgeous dresses, shoes, handbags and jewellery. I don’t think words can thank everyone enough for their generosity to these girls who will feel beautiful , maybe for the first time in their life!
