Quality Assurance Study Guides
Day of Testing:
Larry will be holding a review session in the Courthouse Jury Room for youth to attend before they take the test (if interested).
Those who are taking the Intermediate test come at 9:00 a.m. for a review session.
Seniors will have a review session at 10:00 a.m.
Pre-registration not required for study sessions.
Quality Assurance Testing will be held on Tuesday, May 22 from 9:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Extension Office. There is currently no fee associated with the test-out option. This option will be good for three years.
- Intermediates - Ages 12-14
- Seniors - Ages 15-18

Meats Team Practices
All practices will be held on Tuesdays other than the District Contest on Thursday.

Animal ID Day
Feeder Calf & Bucket Calf
- 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- Please pick up ear tags at the Extension Office and have them in the animal ear BEFORE arriving to ID Day.
Market Lamb
- 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Please have Scrapie tags in the animal ear BEFORE arriving to ID Day as this will be the only form of identification this year.
Goats
- 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
- Please have Scrapie tags in the animal ear BEFORE arriving to ID Day as this will be the only form of identification this year.
Rabbits
- 4:00 - 5:30 p.m.
This year, families will be responsible for entering all the DNA information (and pay the DNA charge) into the online nomination system (www.shockstockmgr.com) by the June 15 deadline. All families have received letters in the mail with this information.

Dodge County Livestock Judging Contest
Registration - 6:00-6:30 p.m.
Contest - will start at 6:45 p.m.
Family members enter in various age categories ranging from 5 years old to adults. Participants can compete as individuals as well as on a team. Teams consist of three or more immediate family members and team total scores consist of the highest three scores from each family team. Prizes are awarded to the top individuals in each category as well as the top teams.

Cattle Sorting School & Competition
There will be a Nebraska Western Heritage Cattle Sorting School & Competition on June 30 at Fonner Park in Grand Island beginning at 9:00 a.m.
This event will be both a horse and rider school/clinic plus a competition at the end of the day for both youth and adults. Western Heritage sorting emphasizes slow and quiet cattle handling on horseback. Come out and try something new & different with your horses! No experience necessary for either you or the horse.
Space is limited to 60 riders at a first come, first serve basis.
- Pre-registration closes June 22. Cost is $60.
