3rd - 5th grade SOLs
All 3rd-5th grade students are encouraged to participate in SOLs this school year. Students who are attending face-to-face will complete SOLs within their Tuesday-Friday school day. Students who are completing instruction virtually will be requested to come into the building on Mondays to complete SOLs. Transportation will be available for those students who will be taking SOLs on Mondays. Currently, SOL testing is scheduled for the end of May and the beginning of June.
We will send a letter with additional information which will include the SOL schedule in the near future.
Parent Questions
Now that we know students may bring lunch can they also bring a breakfast?
A: We were very happy to hear that we are able to allow students to bring lunch to school beginning April 20th. Both breakfast and lunch will be provided for all students.
Prior to COVID, students did not bring breakfast to school. We will continue following the same process, we are going to ask that students either eat breakfast at home or eat the breakfast that will be provided by the county. We will not have students go through the lunch line, but instead, have designated breakfast stops in the school where breakfast will be available for students as they transition into the school. Students can grab breakfast from the designated location and take it with them to the classroom to eat.
Will masks be required and monitored?
A: Yes, well-fitted cloth face masks will be required to be worn over both the nose and mouth. Additionally, classroom teachers and staff throughout the building will be reminding students to wear their face masks appropriately. I want to also remind our families that students and staff MAY NOT wear gaiters or bandanas while at school. Please review the mask requirements below.
