Known as "Lady Ella", "Queen of Jazz", and "First Lady of Song", Ella Fitzgerald was an American Jazz singer, who was known for big range and scat singing. These talents led her to win thirteen Grammy Awards. She was born in Newport News, Virginia on April 25, 1917. In her lifetime she was a singer, actress and dancer. She made her debut at the Apollo theater in Harlem,New York.
