MCAA Qualification Changes
As current parents of students at MCAA, you may get questions from neighbors and friends who have a rising third grader in regards to a qualification letter that is going out very soon to students who meet initial criteria. The admission requirement guidelines have changed for rising third grade students entering in 2019-20, so please feel free to direct any questions regarding it to Dr. Patterson. So you are aware, the requirements now include a writing and STEAM challenge assessment that students have to take prior to final acceptance. In addition, rising third graders will receive this notification if they earned a 75% in either math OR reading MAP during the Fall administration window. If you would like more details, please feel free to contact Dr. Patterson.
While all questions regarding the criteria should be directed to Dr. Patterson, we recognize that our current MCAA parents are the best voices for our amazing school and appreciate the positive comments and accolades you can share so others are aware of the environment we provide for our students.
Student Council Voting
All student council candidates gave their speeches today. They were recorded by grade level. Once the videos are ready, a link will be sent to all teachers to show their classes. Students will be voting on 8 candidates (grade levels will only vote for their own grade level). The top 8 candidates in each grade will represent school as the Student Council.
Voting will take place Monday or Tuesday and names will be announced once results are calculated.
