Say if you were to bury a loved one today it would cost you around 10,000 dollars. But would you drop 8 billion? Well that's what Shah Jahan did for his wife.

Favorite Wife

Shah Jahan had three wifes, but his favorite was Mumtaz Mahal. Unfortunately in 1631 Mumtaz Mahal died giving birth to the couples 14th child.

The Construction

The same year Mumtaz Mahal died Shah Jahan started the construction of the Taj Mahal. The construction lasted for around 20 years. It is known for being the most outstanding examples in Mughal architecture.

Finished Product

The Taj Mahal cost around 8 billion dollars. At the time Shah Jahan could not afford it. So he spent the rest of his life in prison.

Happy Ending

When Shah Jahan died he was buried by his wife in the magnificent mausoleum for eternity.
