April 4: School Librarian Appreciation Day

During National Library Week (April 3-9), we recognize and thank our District's dedicated school media specialists. In our District, our school media specialists teach students how to evaluate and select texts, ethically use print and digital resources, and be responsible digital citizens in the world of social networking and online interaction. Per the NJEA, school media specialists foster a love of reading in students, provide access to enrichment experiences, serve as a resource for colleagues, and support the curricula of the entire school. You can read more about the importance of school media specialists here. Please take a moment to recognize and thank our school Media Specialists and be sure to visit each school's media center web sites:

April 4: Assistant Principals Appreciation Day

National Assistant Principals Week is April 4–8, 2022! We join the National Association of Elementary School Principals, and the American Federation of School Administrators in honoring the contributions of assistant principals to student success. Per the NASSP, this year's celebration takes on even greater significance as we recognize all that assistant principals have conquered amid the pandemic and consider what their ever-expanding and evolving role might look like moving forward. Through it all, assistant principals have demonstrated unwavering leadership—becoming a source of strength and inspiration for us all. Thank you to our Assistant Principals:

April 6: Paraprofessional Appreciation Day

Paraprofessional Appreciation Day honors teacher’s aides and instructional assistants who provide a wide range of services in multiple school settings, including support for instruction, student activities, and for individual students, as well as numerous other tasks that contribute to educational success. Paraprofessionals often provide teachers with administrative support, work with students inside and outside of the classroom, and provide one-on-one support for students who have disabilities or special educational needs. On April 6, take time to recognize the vital work paraprofessionals do as they are deeply committed to supporting students in our schools. We commend and thank them for their outstanding effort and service.
