Dr. Josef Mengele

Josef Mengele was a German SS officer and physician in the Nazi concentration camp in Auschwitz. Mengele tested and did experiments on the inmates of the camp. He also liked to experiment on twins. Most of his experiments were a way to change people's eye color to blue and hair to blonde. In one of his experiments he has done to twins was to make them conjoin twins. He removed body parts of each twin then stitched them together. They ended up dying because of infections.

Begging

Josef Mengele was born in 1911 and was the eldest son in his family. He was reined intelligent and popular in his hometown. He studied philosophy and medicine. In 1937, Mengele joined the Nazi party and in 1938 he went into the SS. In 1942, Josef was wounded and then he volunteered to go to a concentration camp.He was sent to Auschwitz and got his nicknames "angle of death" and "final solution".

Twins

Josef Mengele was the chief provider of the gas chamber. Once he solved a problem with a block or camp house, infected with lice. He gassed all 750 women assigned to it. Josef once gassed a whole transport when a women refused to be separated from her 13 year old. An SS man tried forcing her but the SS man was cut and bitten by her. That was the first time when Josef saw twins.

He then rounded up 14 pairs of gypsy twins that night. In his experiments he injected chloroform to their hearts, killing them instantaneously and meticulously dissecting them until there was nothing left of the twins bodies. The number of twins studied grew and he murdered them after the experiment and their had been dissected. He supervised an operation by sewing a pair of twins together to create Siamese twins. The twins became badly infected where the veins had been replaced and sewn together.

Experiments

Mengele injected chemicals to the eyes in an attempt to change eye color but it did not work. He had a lab were he performed autopsies on twins who had died from experiments and it was located next to a crematorium.

Mengele escaped to South America and carried with him some remaining notes, that were never found. Many of the twins found, recall Mengele as a gentle, affectionate man who befriended them as children and gave them chocolates. Many or all have been immediately separated from their families and Mengele became sort of a father figure.

Kinds of experiments

Mengele performed both physical and psychological experiments. Experiments and surgeries were performed without anesthesia. Operations and transfusions of blood from one twin to another was pure torture. He performed Isolation endurance, reaction to various stimuli experiments too. He had made injections with lethal germs, sex change operations and the removal of organs and limbs, incestuous impregnation.

Survivors

Survivors tell how as children in Auschwitz they were visited by ''Uncle Mengele'' who brought them candy and clothes. Then he had them delivered to his medical laboratory in truck painted with a Red Cross emblem or his own personal car to undergo his experiments.
