This Week in Homeroom
This week we were able to introduce students to a wonderful program we will lean on for our social and emotional connections over the next few months.
We would like to invite you to join us on our journey as we answer the question
WHY TRY?
The new 3 R’s.
Reading, writing, and arithmetic are critical to the success of every student. But to motivate students to care about the old three R’s, WhyTry uses the new three R’s: relationship, relevance, and resilience.
Our objectives this week are for students to be able to answer (and believe) these concepts:
I know I have value and worth because of who I am and not because of my failures or accomplishments.
I am the expert on my own life.
I have strengths, abilities, and interests.
Please talk with your students about what they are hearing in their homeroom/SEL time this week.
Additionally, WHYTRY is offering some resources to parents and families for free (during Covid) that you can access here Parent Guide to Resilience: Homepage
