In an effort to continue to provide the training that you need and want, we've created a Workshop Request Form. Please feel free to fill it out yourself or send it to your teachers for their input. We would like to continue to provide valuable, relevant, and current professional learning opportunities for our districts. Model Schools Liaison Meetings 2020-2021

Please mark your calendars. Our meetings this year will take place on the following dates:


October 22nd: 9 - 11 am

January 5th: 9 - 11 am

March 30th: 9 - 11 am

May 6th: 9 - 11 am


At this time we will plan on meetings being virtual, but if circumstances change and we can meet in person, we will let you know. Registration emails will be sent ahead of each meeting.

Model Schools Sandbox Events 2020-2021

Our Sandbox Events will take place on the following dates:

Leveraging Bitmoji and Virtual Learning Spaces to Enhance Remote Teaching & Learning

Thursday, Oct. 8th, 3:30-4:30pm

This is an online event.

Intended audience: educators who will have created a Bitmoji character prior to the webinar.

Join Stephanie Carbone, Model Schools Specialist, and Amanda Karian, School Library System Specialist, to learn about leveraging virtual classroom scenes using Bitmoji characters and educational resources. In this session, we will discuss the why and the how of creating virtual spaces for your students. We will give an overview of the Bitmoji Chrome extension, virtual classrooms, embedding in Google Classroom & Seesaw, as well as share educational examples, tips, tricks, and templates. There will also be dedicated time for practice and Q & A.

Using Edpuzzle as a Formative Assessment

Thursday, Oct. 15th, 3:30-4:30pm

Videos are a great way to engage our visual learners, but tracking student understanding can be a challenge. Edpuzzle allows teachers to embed questions right within any video. In this session, learn how to utilize this tool to track student progress and accountability. Included will be discussion regarding best practices, scaffolding and differentiation of material in addition to tips on how to include this versatile resource across subject areas and grades. It is recommended to have an Edpuzzle account prior to this training in order to fully take advantage of the learning opportunities. A Zoom link will be emailed one day prior to the session. This kid-friendly tool reduces teachers preparation time, while increasing instructional time with students.
