Joyce Kohfeldt Determination Award
The Program will award a non-renewable $1,000 scholarship to one graduating Crosby Scholar senior who will enroll in a two- or four-year college or university, who actively participates in community service and extracurricular activities, and who clearly expresses in an essay how any events or special circumstances have impacted his or her educational experience as well as any adversities he or she has overcome. (This scholarship recognizes a senior who has overcome adversity while pursuing his or her educational goals and has emerged with a remarkable story of determination.)
The application is available in the Crosby Scholars student portal today! The application deadline is March 04, 2018.
Advancing Capitalism Scholarship
The Program will award up to three renewable $1,250 scholarships to graduating Crosby Scholar seniors who will enroll in a four-year college or university with either Business or Economics as their intended major, has a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.0 or higher, and who submit an essay utilizing one of three available essay prompts. The scholarship is renewable through four continuous years of undergraduate study for a maximum cumulative award of $5,000 as long as the recipient maintains a 3.0 GPA, a major in business or economics, and provides an annual update on their progress through school.

Bummed that you didn't win? Don't worry! There are still more opportunities to win free scholarship money for college. TWO more opportunities to attend a performance at the Piedmont Opera are coming up in March. Specific dates will be announced soon and will be posted in your Crosby Scholars Student Portal. Scholars who attend one of the two upcoming performances will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $250 Cultural Awareness Scholarship!

Thanks to generous donors who believe in championing youth, the Center for Smart Financial Choices is offering six different scholarships this year. High school seniors and adult students pursuing a technical, vocational, associate’s or first bachelor’s degree for the 2018-2019 academic year are eligible to apply.
SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
- Youth Scholarship (high school seniors)
- Four $1,000 awards
- Adult Scholarship
- One $2,000 award
- Hispanic/Latino Scholarship (Youth or Adult)
- One $2,000 award
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Be enrolled or accepted as a full-time student in an accredited college or university
- Have an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Attend two financial education classes offered by CFSFC and complete 500-word essay in response to classes
DEADLINE REQUIREMENTS (NO LATER THAN February 23rd, 2018)
- Complete the attached Application for Scholarship Opportunity form and return it with $15 membership fee to the Center for Smart Financial Choice
DEADLINE REQUIREMENTS (NO LATER THAN April 11th, 2018)
- Complete two financial education classes offered by CFSFC and submit essay in response to financial education classes (essay topics will be given during the classes)
- Submit official transcript of grades for 2017-2018 school year
- Submit college acceptance letter
- Submit summary of achievements

Scholarship winners will be announced on the evening of April 24th during our scholarship reception event. We invite all applicants and their friends and families to join us at this celebration!

The Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program is a selective, full scholarship for Pell-eligible high school seniors. The fellowship will be awarded to 20 student leaders in 2018 with the intent of promoting their academic excellence and leadership development, through college graduation.
The Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program will only be awarded in 2018. Selected Fellows will be eligible for up to five years of funding to complete their bachelor’s program. Click here to apply!
AWARD
Fellows will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
BASIC ELIGIBILITY
To apply, students must be:
- A high school senior
- Pell-eligible
- A US citizen, national, or permanent resident
- In good academic standing with a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
Additionally, students must submit either an SAT or ACT score.
Selected Wells Fargo Fellows must enroll full-time, in a four-year degree program, at a US accredited, not-for-profit, private or public college or university. Failure to enroll in the fall of 2018 will lead to forfeiture of the scholarship.
Wells Fargo Fellows must participate in all Wells Fargo Webinars and attend all Summer Leadership Summits in order to maintain funding eligibility.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The Wells Fargo Academic Leaders Fellowship Program is looking for students who are:
- Graduating in the top 10% of their high school class
- Taking rigorous college-preparatory coursework
- Recognized as leaders in their community
