We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Monday is Instructional day #21 of 86, as such we are now 24% of the way through semester 2 for non-diploma courses. Students are required to check in and meet with their instructor(s) weekly. It is recommended that multiple check ins occur each week to ensure successful completion of academic course work. Students not adhering to the weekly check in schedule may be removed from the course.

EIPS Parent & Caregiver Feedback Survey

Elk Island Public Schools wants to hear from you. Make sure to complete the 2023 EIPS Annual Feedback Survey: For parents and caregivers—open from March 1-23.


Every year, EIPS conducts the feedback survey to gauge its progress toward meeting the goals and priorities outlined in its Four-Year Education Plan. Families are asked a series of questions about their experiences with EIPS and Next Step, the overall performance of the Division, the quality of education being provided to students and areas for improvement. Alberta Education Assurance Survey

The survey looks at various measures such as education quality, citizenship, family involvement, engagement levels, school climate and student wellness. We hope that you may be able to assist us and request a Random Access Code to complete the survey prior to March 17. The Alberta Education Assurance Survey data is our report card on the quality of education provided. If you have questions regarding the survey please connect with us.

Grad 2023 Information

Next Step Graduation Ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 9 at the Shell Theatre, (DOW Centre) Fort Saskatchewan. Tickets will be available at no cost to families. Each graduate will be able to receive up to 8 tickets. Students will receive their graduation gown, cap, tassel and stole prior to the graduation ceremony. Students keep their cap, tassel and stole. There is no cost to students for taking Grad portraits.

Empowering diversity in the trades

Next in Trades is a free event series that encourages and empowers people aged 16 and up from all backgrounds and abilities to explore careers in the skilled trades industry. As a leading skilled trades training and education provider, NAIT provides training and mentorship to prepare you to succeed in the trades. Explore your potential and discover a career that works for you in the skilled trades. Participants will take part in four 45-minute workshops throughout the day. Headstrong GSA Mental Health Conference

The Alberta GSA Conference is hosting the Headstrong GSA Mental Health Conference on Saturday, April 22 in Edmonton. It will include mental health keynote speeches, a concert, physical wellness activities, and breakout activities. Lunch will be provided for all participants. This conference is free to attend! Deadline to register is March 22, 2023.
