Josh Kyle Wins National Championship

On Saturday Josh Kyle became the fifth Viking wrestler in the history of Francis Howell to win a National Championship. Josh competed this weekend in the Flo Nationals/UWW Junior Freestyle's in Indiana, Pennsylvania. Josh won the national tournament that attracts the top wrestlers from across the country. Josh now joins an elite group of Viking Wrestlers that have won National Championships. This list of wrestlers includes Howell alums Connor Flynn , Jack Flynn, Sammie Henson, & Tim Kephart! Congratulations to Josh Kyle on this great accomplishment!

2019 Signing Class Continues To Grow, 33 Recognized During Signing Day Ceremony

This past Wednesday the Activities Department celebrated it's student-participants that have made the decision to further their education and activity/sport at the college level. Over the course of the past four years Howell has had over 250 students go on to further their education and sport at the college level. Francis Howell High School ranks among the nations best in regards to students going on to further their education and activity/sport at the college level. The group fo 33 recognized on Wednesday have also excelled in the classroom where they have held a cumulative GPA of 3.45 over the course of their high school career.

Boys Golf Raises $3,170 For Siteman Cancer Center

The Francis Howell Boy's Golf program hosted a golf charity match this past week. The charity match raised $3,170 for the Siteman Cancer Center. Through the support of the Howell Family and local businesses a raffle basket worth over $2000 was created for the event and raffled off following the match. Thank you to those that helped to support this great cause and to our golf program for helping to raise $3,170 for a great cause!

Girls Lacrosse Extends Winning Streak To Four Games

The Girls Lacrosse program continues to make great strides in Howell's fourth season offering the sport. Our Lady Vikings are currently 7-4 and have now won four straight after a thrilling 9-8 win over FHC on Thursday night. This season the program has advanced to the second tier where they are playing well established programs and the program is holding its own. Howell senior Danielle Robinson is currently in the Top 10 in the area in points with 39 goals and 6 assists. You can view an article on the FHC game by clicking the link below. Wrestling Program Earns Three All-Americans

The storied Howell Wrestling program has had a historic year. Not only did Howell bring home its first ever heavyweight State Champion at the state tournament but now it has added three All-Americans to its resume as well as a National Champion. Howell Wrestlers Hayden Trezek, Ryan Skillington and National Champion Josh Kyle have all earned All-American status over the course of the past few weeks wrestling at national tournaments. These Vikings have done an excellent job of representing Howell at the national level against the top wrestlers in the country. All three wrestlers will return to the program next season. The 2019-20 wrestling season looks bright! Congratulations to these three Vikings on these nationally recognized accomplishments!

Senior Golfers Have Last Home Match Of Season

The Howell Boys Golf Program has grown to one of the largest in school history. The level of talent and play continues to grow within the program. This past week the golf program recognized its six seniors at their last home match of the season. Congratulations to Trey Ackerman, Kirk Brewster, Chase Campbell, Blake Derleth, Elliott Graham, Cole Prager, and Craig Williams for representing Howell and the golf program so well. Good luck to these young men at the GAC Tournament and beyond as they close out the season.

FBLA Advances Five To Nationals

Congrats to our FBLA members that represented Howell well at the State level this past week. We had several Vikings that finished in the Top 10 that you can view below. Cheer Tryout Meeting & Dates Announced

Cheer tryouts for the 2019-20 season will take place this week for those interested in being part of the program. You can view

4/23-4/26 - Cheer Tryouts - Cheer tryouts for the 2019-20 season will take place April 23, 24, 25 and 26. Cheerleaders that are unable to make one or more of these dates due to competing at Cheer Worlds will have an additional tryout opportunity. All cheerleaders trying out must have a completes eligibility packet on file in the Activities Office prior to April 23rd. This eligibility packet includes having a physical dated after February 1st 2018. All eligibility paperwork can be found at this link - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzQRUPP7fQ-WMG5kX2dxYXY4eUk/view?usp=sharing Those that do not have this paperwork turned and complete with all signatures by April 23rd will not be able to tryout until this paperwork is complete. Students can begin to turn all completed eligibility paperwork into the Activities Office now. The locations and times of tryouts can be found below.

VLA Starts "Saturday Celebration" Initiative

Howell is a very special place filled with very special people that help to make our programs and experiences great for all. This past Saturday the Viking Leadership Academy kicked off a new initiative to help celebrate and recognize the great contributions and efforts of those at Howell. Each Saturday Howell students, staff, parents, fans are encouraged to take a brief moment to thank or recognize someone using #SaturdayCelebration on social media. The goal is to flood social media with appreciation and recognition for the many people that make Howell and our programs great. We hope that the entire Howell Family joins in this new initiative to highlight the many great people at Howell!

Howell Alum Signs To Play With Womens Premier Soccer League

Congratulations to Howell alum Brittany Steiger for signing to play for the St. Louis Lions of the WPSL. The Women’s Premier Soccer League is a developmental opportunity for amateur players in the United States. Entering its 22nd season, the WPSL has grown to more than 100 clubs and is the largest women’s soccer league in the world. Team rosters consist of highly skilled players from collegiate, post-collegiate, international and standout prep athletes. Congratulations to Brittany and good luck this season!

The summer, fall, winter, and spring dead periods and starting dates for MSHSAA sponsored activities has been released for the 2019-20 school year. These dates can be found below. We hope that this information helps all Vikings and their families coordinate and prepare for the summer and sports seasons ahead during the 2019-20 school year.
