Science and Social Studies
*Ask your student what the parts of a seed are? (cotyledons, seed coat, and embryo) Tough question!
In Social Studies this week we discussed landforms and made flashcards to help us study for the test at the end of the quarter.
*Ask your student what landform is a low lying land where the water level is always near or above the surface of the land? (wetland)
Students Examining Seedlings!
Students are excited about science!
These are the seedlings, students are observing. They are observing them every day, drawing a picture, and identifying the properties.
The green class sprouter will give us our seedlings so we can start hydroponics!
In writer's workshop students are putting the finishing touches on the students' personal narratives about how they took responsibility.
In reader's workshop students have been working with the mentor text Josias, Hold the Book. We have been identifying story elements and inferencing the character's feelings.
** Ask your child how Josias took responsibility in the story Josias, Hold the Book... (He tried many different ways to get his family's garden to grow).
