We would like to wish a Happy School Lunch Hero Day to Pennsbury's hardworking nutrition professionals! The Nutrition Group prepares healthy meals for our students, adheres to strict nutrition standards, navigates student food allergies, and offers service with a smile! We want to thank all of our nutrition professionals at Pennsbury for their hard work and dedication to the Nutrition Group's mission to provide nutritious meals for thousands of students on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, the Food Truck Festival scheduled for tomorrow, May 7 at PHS East has been cancelled due to inclement weather.
Pennsbury Celebrates the Return of the District Art Show
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Pennsbury's annual District Art Show made its return this week. The show officially wrapped up yesterday. For three days, Pennsbury families and the community were invited to the East Gymnasium to view the amazing works of art created by our talented students. Didn't get a chance to stop by? PHS Teachers Receive Special Recognition
Representative Perry Warren stopped by PHS West today to visit Jessica Perfetto and John Goodz. PHS was recently named a STEM School of Excellence, and Representative Warren presented Ms. Perfetto, STEM Curriculum Coordinator, with a citation to recognize the award. Mr. Goodz received a citation for being named a Project Leads the Way Outstanding Educator of the Year. Congratulations!

PHS Students Snag Victories in Stock Pitch Competitions
The Pennsbury High School Business, Computers, and Information Technology Department would like to congratulate Jessica Firestone and Brady Burgfechtel on their victories in the PA Young Investors Society Stock Pitch Competition on April 21 and the Young Investors Society East Coast Regional Stock Pitch Competition on April 25. Both Jessica and Brady will move on to compete against other students from across the United States and around the world in the Global Stock Pitch Competition in Salt Lake City on May 20. In this competition, students are challenged to analyze a public company and demonstrate why they believe its stock is a good buy. The students use the company's financial statements and the knowledge gained in their Wealth Management & Financial Literacy Honors class to complete their analysis before pitching the stock to a panel of investment professionals. Best of luck to Jessica and Brady in Salt Lake City!
World Language Students Put on Their Dancing Shoes
Last week, fifty German students from Pennsbury High School participated in a three hour cultural immersion program called "Der Waltz" at La Luna Dance Studio in Bristol, PA. In addition to learning how to waltz, students learned about its history and enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch of traditional German dishes.
During a separate trip, Spanish students from PHS also went to La Luna Dance Studio and learned to dance the Salsa and the Bachata. Additionally, they got to enjoy some authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. Great job, everyone!
Disney Channel's smash hit movie musical comes to life onstage at William Penn! Troy, Gabriella, and the students of East High must deal with issues of love, friends, and family while balancing their classes and extracurricular activities.
Don't miss this talented cast! Performances are on May 13 at 8:00 p.m., and May 14 at 2:00 & 8:00 p.m. Tickets are general admission and are $10.00 a seat.

Fallsington Celebrates 10,000 Water Bottles Saved
Fallsington Elementary School celebrated saving the environment from 10,000 water bottles being thrown away! Their water filling station hit 10,000 when second grader Zoey Cammarato filled her water bottle on Monday, May 2. Ms. Kooker's kindergarteners have been waiting all year to celebrate, and that they did! They celebrated with noise makers, confetti poppers, streamers, and balloons! They can't wait to celebrate 20,000 water bottles saved! Way to go, Fallsington!
William Penn Student Raises Over $700 for Holocaust Survivors
Matthew Sherman, a seventh-grader at William Penn Middle School, just completed a successful fundraiser to support The Blue Card Fund. The Blue Card Fund is an organization dedicated to assisting Holocaust survivors worldwide living in poverty. Click here to read more about Matthew's efforts.
French Students Put Their Skills to the Test
Recently, students from French 4 and AP French classes at Pennsbury High School took a field trip to the C'est La Vie French Bakery in New Hope, New Jersey. Here, students put their skills to the test and ordered a pastry by speaking entirely in French. This was great real-world practice for using a foreign language organically in everyday situations. Bon travail!

The Crucible is directed by Matthew South, assisted by Damari Fallacaro, Costumer Ruth
Schanbacher and student stage manager senior Mary Kate O’Donnell. It stars seniors Grace Hasney as Abigail, Ryan Holcombe as John Proctor, Mason Snyder as Deputy-Governor Danforth, Patrick Diamond as Reverend Samuel Parris, Olivia Byrne as Elizabeth Proctor and Junior Jacob Rabinowitz as Reverend John Hale.
Other cast members include: Seniors Elise Carey, Ryann Moran, Madison Russell; Juniors Addison Blumberg, Dylan Cardone, Will Carter, Gianna Miller, Benjamin Pulka, Ryan Stout; Sophomores Meghan Crohe, Jaymes Lewis, Andrew Meschke, Coral Ramos-Saturria; Freshmen: Jason Kaplan and Cecelia Troiano.
Director Matthew South shares that “We wanted a production that was extremely traditional. The Crucible is a classic American drama that they study within our English curriculum and gives everyone the chance for some truly dramatic work.”
PHS Students Compete in National French Contest
Seventeen Pennsbury High School students have ranked nationally in the 87th Grand Concours. Le Grand Concours is a national competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French. Congratulations to Afton Elementary School's Kristin Slota on being named a finalist for Pennsylvania's 2023 Teacher of Year! Slota, Afton's SPARK teacher, is one of 12 finalists nominated for the prestigious award!
Pennsylvania's Teacher of the Year will be announced at a state awards ceremony in Harrisburg in the winter and represents Pennsylvania at the National Teacher of the Year ceremony at the White House.
On Thursday, May 12 the Pennsbury High School German Club will be hosting a spirit night at the Panera in Levittown from 4pm - 8pm. In addition to the fundraiser, students will be hosting a Stammtisch, or German conversational hour, in the backroom of the restaurant from 6pm - 6:30pm. Make sure to use the code "PRFUND" when ordering online, or bring the above flyer to the restaurant and show it to the cashier when ordering in person.
Join Pennsbury High School in their fundraising efforts for the Best Buddies Friendship Walk! The walk will be held May 21 at Pennsbury High School. Please click here to make a donation or to sign up to walk.
The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the leading walk in the country supporting inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (also known as IDD).
Since 2009, more than 150,000 participants in 60 cities have walked to raise awareness for inclusion, friendship, leadership development, and integrated job opportunities for people with IDD. Funds raised at the Friendship Walks help support the local Best Buddies program!
Safe2Say Something
Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the PA Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to "say something" BEFORE it is too late. With Safe2Say Something, it's easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies.
