Principal's Weekly Update

Kia ora,

The last two days have been amazing! As hoped, the students have quickly settled back into school life, loved catching up with their friends and teachers, and thoroughly enjoyed playing all sorts of games at break times. Thank you so much for ensuring your child/ren were aware of all of our alert level 2 requirements before they came to school yesterday and for dropping off/picking up your child/ren at the school gates.

Cross Country

We have rescheduled our school cross country to take place on Thursday 16th September on Mel and Mark Cleaver’s farm (opposite the Matapu Hall). We will get things underway from about midday, once all of the students assemble in the paddock. Unfortunately for us to meet the Ministry of Health’s criteria for hosting an event under alert level 2, we need to exclude spectators from the event. This means that ONLY school students and staff can be at the event, no parents, caregivers, or extended family can attend. Thank you for your support with this. It is at times like these that it’s important to reflect on the number of school events that we have already held this year under Alert Level 1 and really celebrate the fact that our parents/caregivers have been able to attend so many. With any luck Alert Level 1 is on the horizon and we’ll be able to get back to normal in the near future.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Ngå mihi nui

Touch

Thank you to everyone who has registered their child/ren for touch this year. The new start and finish date for touch this season is Thursday 21st October 2021 - Thursday 16th December 2021. Teams will be announced before the end of term, but we still need coaches for Year 7/8, Year 3/4 & Year 1/2 teams. If you are willing to help out and coach a team, please contact Emma at the office.

Lucky Book Club

All lucky book club orders have been processed at our end, however due to the distribution center being in Auckland they are currently unable to process and send orders out.

All orders will be sent out as soon as Auckland's alert level allows.
