Martin Luther King's childhood
Martin Luther King Jr. was named after his father Martin Luther King Sr. but he was actually named Michael before his father changed his name to Martin when he was only two years old. Martin was famous for some of his amazing speeches like one that is very famous “I Had a Dream.” He was also very very famous for having black and whites join. Martin really changed this world!
Martin's Family
Martin had a big family but a small life. He was born on January 15, 1929 in Georgia. He died at a Memphis motel called Lorraine Motel on April 4, 1968. He died at the age of 39 years old. Martin had 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Martin’s girl’s names are Yolanda King and Bernice King. Martin’s boy’s names are Martin Luther King the third and Dexter Scott King. Martin’s wife’s name is Coretta Scott King. She died on January 30, 2006.

Martin Luther King Jr. Parents names are His mom is Alberta Williams King his father’s name is Martin Luther king sr. His brother’s name is Alfred Daniel Williams King. He also had a beautiful sister named Christine King Farris. Martin Luther king Jr. was in jail about 30 times. That’s almost as many years as he’s been alive. He had a very big family but he also had a very big dream.
Martin's dream
Since Martin had a big dream him, he spoke his dream on a stage in front of about 250,000 people on August 28, 1963. He did that speech and everybody liked it so he got a holiday out of it. The name of the holiday is Martin Luther King Day. The very special Holiday is on the 3rd Monday of every January. For most schools on Martin Luther King Day they do a writing piece about him or a lesson on him.
The Day
This is a very important day for a lot of people because Martin made life to where you can play with anybody even if they’re not your color. Martin didn’t separate people he made everybody equal. He made people get to be able to things they wanted to do like not use a different water fountain and many more things. He made a very big change in the United States.
