Here Comes Our 2021 Knights!!
Mini College Fair
Foothill High School hosted an out-of-state mini college fair Thursday evening in the Event Center. The universities presented a power-point presentation about each of their universities and the opportunities available to California residence including scholarships and special program. The colleges also had an information tables and our local representatives were able to talk to students and parents and answer individual questions regarding their university. The University of New Mexico already accepted six of our students and offered them scholarships which totaled over $250,000.
ATA Production or Spanish Telenovela?
While comparing and contrasting entertainment in the United States with that of Spanish-speaking countries, students wrote scripts for their own telenovelas. The next logical step was to bring their scripts to life! Some students opted to record and edit their telenovelas, while others gave live performances that had their audiences wondering if they were in Spanish class or at an Advanced Theater Arts production. The group pictured (H. Hall, M. Hall, G. Naylor, G. Real) truly brought their telenovela to life with wardrobe changes, scene and background changes, and a surprise ending! Foothill students’ creativity abounds, even in a second language!
Knights in Progress Attend Career Forum
The Knights in Progress Mentor Program attended the Orange County Career Forum at Orange Coast College March 24th. The students listened to Keynote Speaker, Adrienne Slaughter and then selective two career presentations to attend. There were fourteen career presentations to select from in fields such as Marketing & Advertising, Foods, Broadcasting and Television, Cosmetology, Nursing and Medical, FBI, Fire and Police, Engineering, Fashion and Computer Programing and Coding. Several of the workshops were careers related to the pathways available at Foothill High School. The students were treated to lunch and they all agreed that it was a good day with a lot of great information.
Young Woman of Achievement
Congratulations to our Young Woman of Achievement, Laura Tucker, for being selected for this outstanding award from the Santa Ana/Tustin Soroptimist Club. Laura has been a model citizen to all of her peers on our FHS campus. She is a bright, energetic, compassionate, well rounded student with a beautiful personality that touches everyone around her. We would like to congratulate her one more time for being selected as Foothill’s Young Woman of Achievement!!

FHS Meditation Club
The Meditation Club is a place where friends come together to meditate, and to eat a variety of doughnuts. They normally meet about once a month. Club meetings usually start with members talking about their day and simultaneously eating doughnuts. Then, students “get into meditation,” and they meditate for ten relaxing minutes. At the beginning of the year, co-founders Garrett Bunkers and Riley Osborn taught new meditators “formations, how to sit, and how to relax”. Both founders agree they “love teaching the kids.” Bunkers and Osborn are planning a field trip somewhere “away” for club members.
