The belief that your own country is the best country and the most important. Nationalism was one of the five main reasons for the start of World War 1.

Some examples are when you wave the flag and sing the National Anthem.
This could cause a war because some people may think that it is wrong to think that your country is better than everyone else's. Some countries might want to challenge a country that is nationalistic to see who is the better country. In world war 1 each country tried to prove their dominance and power thus leading to a direct cause to the war.
