6th graders practiced their keyboarding skills this week. Their goal the past few weeks has been 16 wpm with 90% accuracy. This will go up to 19 wpm for the next week. They may practice their keyboarding anytime at typingtraining.com. Students can even use their Chromebooks to practice anywhere they have an Internet connection. They all have their login information. If you have any issues logging on at home, please email me. You can monitor your child's progress at home and school by going to the reports menu after they have logged into Typing Training. Many computer students email to ask login information or for me to assign specific assignments on typingtraining.com. I welcome these emails and respond as soon as possible.
6th graders also successfully completed a mini-unit on using Microsoft Word. We will continue our work using Microsoft Word next week.
The 2017-18 Tech Interns have been participating in an intense training sessions the learning many skills that will be needed to start the 2017-18 school year. So far they have been amazing!

HORNET SINGERS:
Hornet Singers...though they be but few, they be mighty!
We are enjoying all of our pieces for our concert that will be NEXT WEEK Monday, May 8th. The students are so pumped about the new styles they are learning and I have greatly enjoyed seeing this excitement grow.
Don't Stop Believin' has become a current focus as we had some fantastic solo auditions last week. We can't wait for you to hear what we have planned. You may have heard them practicing around the house!
We are continuing to work on our music literacy as we are sight-reading daily! Ask your student all about it...it's a game...it's a puzzle...it's FUN! :)
The choir handbook and schedule is online for your perusal anytime. (www.fulton58.org)
HARMONY HORNETS:
We are so proud of the hard work these students give every Tuesday! Our amazing group is made up of a mixture of 6th-8th grade (7th/8th band or guitar members) and has great energy and interest in making great music. Rehearsals are every Tuesday from 3:20 - 4:15 in the FMS choir room (G07).
We are having so much fun with our songs this semester and can't wait for our concert NEXT WEEK on Monday, May 8th, all about Spirituals!
If you ever have any questions, concerns, or comments, feel free to contact me at llehman@fulton58.org.
HORNET PRIDE:
Hornet Pride has been assisting with a top secret project for Mrs. Hapner's 6th grade ELA class! We will be providing the background music for a project they are creating! I'm proud of how hard our singers are working. We continue to make excellent progress on the rest of our concert repertoire as well. Shine On Me seems to be a favorite of the choir!
Be ready for our final concert on Monday, May 8th!
