Exciting Summer Learning Opportunity
English Learning Network Updates
Additions/Refinements to All Courses
Homepage facelift—we’re trying to make the network easy-to-use so that you can find the resources you need quickly and efficiently.
Additional links that were once housed only on the Secondary Learning Network for ELA 6-12 are now housed on each grade level homepage. These links include: the 6-12 scope and sequence so that you can see how your units of study relate to other years’ focus themes and units, links to the OLL SharePoint for additional curriculum support documents, ARM and assessment information, CPALMS, FLDOE assessment central, the OWL at Purdue for writing help, and TEDx information.
Inside each unit are supporting documents for planning at each stage of the teaching/assessing cycle. Teachers have the year-long scope and sequence, the unit overview which includes the unit planning guide, and the Lesson planning tool. The unit also includes Tier 2 and 3 resources to support intervention.
- Scope and sequence: year-long
- Unit overview: quarter
- Lesson planning tool: daily or by each text
- Tier 2 and Tier 3 resources: daily or by each text
Updated SEL information for grades 6-12. We've worked to embed social emotional learning standards with our existing curriculum. When opportunities for natural connections between themes in texts to social-emotional learning could be made, we highlighted those competencies and benchmarks in the unit overview.
Discussion forums are available inside each quarter. We are excited to launch these discussion spaces as both a place for you to collaborate across the county to share lesson ideas, and also a place to begin sharing examples of student work so that we can begin to build up our own student work library.
Student facing Canvas pages coming for grades 6 and 9. These canvas pages will be available to use with students with pre-loaded discussion forums and writing tasks. You can still edit, revise, and personalize these Canvas pages to use with your students!
