Concluding our Study of Rome
The End of Rome
The Fall of RomeOur study of Rome ends this week. In the Late Empire period, the power of Roman Empire begins to erode. The economy and the power of the imperial bureaucracy disintegrates. The empire becomes divided as it becomes difficult to keep order on all frontiers.
"Roman Empire is the bridge - in politics, the arts, and religion - between the ancient and the medieval and modern Western worlds" (GATA p. 298).
As we move forward in our studies, we aren't immediately moving into Medieval Era with "Early Christian" art. Based on our class poll, we are going to stick around in the ancient period and complete at "Buddhist Art" Unit. This will be our next area of study following Thanksgiving Break.

Both of them will have to learn compromise to protect the other..."
