Abby Womach
Recently there has been a major controversy between FIFA and the women of the United States Women's National Team, along with many other Women's National Teams. FIFA decided to make it so all of the Women's teams have to play on turf instead of grass fields like the men. Abby is one of the major names involving this dispute because she is fighting against both FIFA and the Canadian Soccer Association to get this problem fixed for her and her fellow players. Because the turf is extremely dangerous to play on, and only the women are being forced to play in it, she is courageously fighting against a clear example of gender discrimination. Although she is risking her role in the soccer community, she is showing a great deal of courageousness for fighting for what she believes in not only for herself, but for all of the other women, too.
