Dear Families,
Happy Diwali! We loved seeing some of our students and parents wearing such beautiful attire in celebration of this holiday and teaching us more about it.
COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics
SPS has scheduled vaccination clinics to be held on November 17 and December 8 from 1-5 PM at Curtis Middle School, 22 Pratts Mill Road. The clinics are for all children, ages 5-11, living in Sudbury, attending a Sudbury public school and/or residing in the household of school or town employee. Children will be required to stay for 15 minutes after receiving their shot.
Please register at this link. When you register, you will be scheduled for both doses.
If you have any questions, reach out to Carol Bradford, school nurse, or Jeff Lappin, Assistant Director of Student Services at jeffrey_lappin@sudbury.k12.ma.us.
COVID Cases at Noyes
Some families have received the upsetting news that their child has tested positive for COVID or their child has been identified as a close contact. When this happens, there are understandably many questions. Carol Bradford, our school nurse, has worked tirelessly to address everyone’s concerns and inquiries and I am so grateful for all her considerable efforts. If you have questions, please know that there are many helpful answers on our Sudbury Public Schools COVID-19 Resource page and I urge you to review this information.
There are a few things that I’d like to highlight and clarify after working through the contact tracing on the recent positive pools. Please know:
Carol Bradford will call you if your child has tested positive for COVID at school. As soon as this is known, you are called and your child and his/her siblings are dismissed for isolation/quarantine.
Carol Bradford will call you if your child has been identified as a close contact. Please do not call the school asking if your child is a close contact when you hear about a positive case. We are working as swiftly as possible to accurately identify the close contacts. The reason this takes time is because we are checking with the classroom teacher, the specialists, and appropriate others who need time to review the seating charts, consider any small groupings they have had, any Buddy class work, instrumental music, etc. We also must check that information against attendance listings. The short answer is that contact tracing is much more complicated than you might think. It takes time and we thank you for your patience. We are invested in getting it right.
If your child is a close contact identified by school, your child may participate in Test and Stay with your permission OR will have to quarantine for either 7 or 10 days depending on the quarantine protocol you chose to follow. Children identified as a close contact from anything outside of school, including SED or sports or sleepovers, may NOT participate in Test and Stay and must quarantine for either 7 or 10 days. Just to review, the 7-day quarantine option requires a test on day 5 with return to school on day 8 if the test is negative and they have no symptoms. The 10-day quarantine does not require testing but they must remain asymptomatic and can return to school on day 11. All quarantine protocols require you to closely monitor your child for the entire 14-day period.
Students doing Test and Stay can only come to school and stay at school if they test “negative” each day. They follow quarantine rules for everything outside of school otherwise, meaning they should not participate in any outside-the-home activities other than school for the duration of their quarantine period. If your child qualifies for Test and Stay, but you opt for quarantine instead, you may NOT bring your child in for testing just to see the results. Only students staying at school can do Test and Stay.
If your child is in a positive pool, we do the individual 15-minute Reflex testing to identify the student who is positive. We do call you if your child is in a positive pool, but tests “negative” on the individual test. Typically, Mrs. Moffat or I will call you in this case.
Close contacts for the purposes of school are identified as students who have been 3 feet or closer for more than 15 minutes during the 48-hour period prior to symptom onset or the testing date for the positive person. For example, if a child develops symptoms on Monday morning and does not come to school and then tests positive for COVID, there would be no contact tracing at school because the infectious period was Saturday and Sunday.
It is so important that we are all following the mitigation measures and protocols. Thank you for your diligence and cooperation. You are essential partners in keeping your children and the rest of the school and town community safe. Thank you for your efforts.
I hope you enjoy your extra hour of sleep this weekend! We’ve all earned it.
Best,
Annette Doyle

Dear Noyes Families,
I want to send a most sincere thank you for the beautiful flowers I just received from Peter Noyes Parents. I know this has been a stressful time for our school recently, but I want to let you know that everyone I have had to call has been truly understanding and appreciative of all the information I need to share. This is a wonderfully caring school and I so enjoy working with all of our families.
Thank you!
Carol Bradford

Lunch/Recess Volunteers
Welcome Back!!
Dear Peter Noyes Families -
We are excited to announce the return of lunch/recess volunteers! We know that volunteering at school helps all of us feel better connected and we are excited to bring this opportunity back to Noyes! Below you will find a link to sign up for time slots. Please note that you can sign up as often as you like, but we require before volunteering begins that you do three important things:
Check your CORI status with Mrs. Williams in the front office. She can be reached by phone at 978-443-1085 X6001 or by email at Julie_Williams@sudbury.k12.ma.us. All volunteers must pass the criminal records check before volunteering at school.
Provide proof that you’ve been vaccinated against COVID-19 by completing this form
Attend one of the mandatory volunteer training offered via Google Meet:
The sign-up can be found here. Volunteering will begin on November 15th. Please note that often families sign up for a weekly/bi-weekly or monthly slot. Please be sure to choose all the dates you want to ensure they do not fill up. If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Moffat at Kristin_Moffat@sudbury.k12.ma.us.
Thank you for volunteering!
