NOTES FROM DR. SULLIVAN

Happy New Year

We had a smooth but cold start to 2022. Here are a couple of reminders as we start the new year.

  • Please remember to call the school office to report your child absent when they are staying home sick.
  • Students need to wear winter coats and appropriate clothing for going outside for recess. We will go outside unless the temperate is near or below zero.
  • Snow Day packets were sent home earlier this year. If you have misplaced the material please contact your child's teacher.
  • NDE is running a pilot for our new state test in January. In our building, we will be administering mathematics to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders.

Harrison Street Crosswalk

Mr. Ponzetti will not be supervising the Harrison Street crosswalk during the cold winter months. I will notify you when he begins the duty this spring. If you have children that cross remind them to be cautious and always use the traffic light at the crosswalk.

Do you have any partial skeins of yarn left over from a project?

Our Golden Sower Club will be making fleece dog and cat toys in conjunction with the book Because of the Rabbit and donating them to Town and Country Humane Society.

Any scraps longer than 3” will be useful!

Please send your much-needed donation to school by March 18th.

Thank you for sharing with our Crafty Knights!

THANK YOU NEIHARDT COMMUNITY

Thank you to the Neihardt community (friends, family, teachers and staff) that supported the bracelet-sale campaign hosted by two Neihardt students and helped raise funds to support local families during difficult times.

With your support, Macy and Olivia, collectively raised $75 that was donated to Food Bank for the Heartland. The students were provided the opportunity to see, first hand, the impact that Food Bank for the Heartland has on the local community.

The $75 that was donated will provide 300 meals. It can provide food for a family of 4 for 25 days!
