Gattis Gossip
Volume 7, Issue 27 ---------------------------March 30, 2015
THANK YOU, GATTIS
A HUGE THANK YOU for all that you have done and will be doing this week to support our students and staff members in the STAAR administration! You're the best!
Kristal Shanahan, Roxanna Alvarez, Linda Betak, and Gabi Renteria have been working hard to administer TELPAS all week... AND helping with STAAR preparations too! Thank you for your hard work!!
Angie Hintz, Marcie Pearson and Lexey Krause will be doing online STAAR A with all the challenges of something brand new! Send good thoughts their way this week!
Meanwhile, with all the flurry of STAAR testing, our primary grades are teaching and learning, every day growing closer to readiness for the next grade level. Thank you for carrying on and growing strong!
It was SOOOOO cool...
...when our 4th grade students celebrated their writing Friday afternoon! I'm so excited about the work that Ms. Garcia Mrs. Henderson, Mrs. Pearson, and Mrs. Martinez have done to teach writing and the efforts of the rest of the team to support that work!
...to see Ms. Carlson's students in the Mystery Hangout with a class from..... Illinois!! They were so engaged in trying to use the clues to determine where the school was located! Great use of those map skills and land formation learning!

Partners in Education -- PLEASE UPDATE!
We are approaching spring deadlines to have all partners entered. Please be sure to enter volunteers and/donors. Check with LaWanda if you need assistance. : )
Please remember to use this link throughout the year to record any donors and partnerships. If you have guest speakers to your classroom or gradelevel, record the activity. Guest speakers would be recorded as partners rather than donors. Recording this information is an important piece of our accountability and allows our partners to be recognized for all they do for us.
Review Accommodations and groups for CBAs and STAAR Reading Assessments
Please be sure to review the google document with testing accommodations. This document is not available for editing now as we are finalizing details. Let LaWanda know of any changes that need to be made.

Be Prepared!! - Review Emergency Protocols
This is the time of year that severe weather tends to occur in our area.
Be sure to review emergency protocols with your team to be prepared for any drills or actual crises. Make sure that materials are highly visible and easily accessible to substitutes. Team members should be aware of any substitutes present and make sure to provide support in case emergency protocols are needed for any reason.
