Round or Dynamic Characters
By. Jessica James
Definition
A dynamic character changes throughout the story or novel.
A round character is fully developed so that the reader has a good picture of their looks and personality. They act more like a person in real life than just a character in a story.
Scrooge from A Christmas Carol
Scrooge is a dynamic character because he changes as he visits his past, present and future.
Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games
Katniss is a round character because she is very well portrayed and acts like a real life person.
Jem Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird
Jem is a good example of both a round and dynamic character because not only does he change as he becomes older but he also has a complex personality.
