Meet the Teacher!
Welcome to HNES 4th Grade!
Introduction!
Dear Families,
Welcome to 4th grade! I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child and working together to help your child succeed! My name is Lanie Matula and I will be teaching your child reading, writing, and social studies virtually. I love all of the subjects that I teach, but it is especially my goal to instill a lifelong passion of reading and writing in all of my students
About Me!
I am a true AUSTINITE! A unicorn! I was born and raised here, and I love everything about Austin that you can think of… except the traffic.
I actually grew up in Liberty Hill where my dad owned a restaurant for 13 years called Lambo's Diner! I started waiting tables at the age of 5 and managing at 13. It has helped me grow and understand so many things in life.
This will be my 7th year in teaching 4th grade and my 2nd year here at Howard Norman.
When I am not teaching or planning awesome things for us to do at school, I enjoy watching and playing sports, listening to or going to live music concerts, reading, trying new foods, going to the pool or anything outside and spending time with my friends and family.
I have 4 girls at home. A 12 year old, twin 11 year olds, and a 2 year old. Most of my spare time is spent playing with them.
I am so excited for this school year and can't wait to get to know all of you!
Virtual Classroom vs. My Classroom

I hope for that day sooner than later! |
