Non-District Materials Form
If you ever plan to use a movie or other media source that was not purchased with district funds, you must first complete a "Non-District Materials Form" checklist (LINK HERE).
Thanks to Sarah Parrett, we now have a "Depp ES Non-District Materials Approval Log" available. If the movie/resource is already on this list, then there is no need to fill out the form.
RIMPs
At this point in time, all RIMPS should be completed and ready to be signed digitally at parent-teacher conferences. Please utilized this step sheet to assist with how parents can sign from home. Julie recommends having parents sign on your computer during conferences (it's easiest).
MTSS: Goodbye Round One, Hello Round Two!
We are ending round one of RtI and PBIS plans. If you have a student who you would like to begin a plan for during round two (who didn't have a plan in round one), please email Julie their name and the area(s) you plan on addressing. She can then connect you to resources!
Round 2 Dates: October 30th, 2023- January 16th, 2023.
Dublin Literacy Conference Call for Proposals
We are excited to announce that we are actively seeking passionate educators like yourself to share their innovative ideas and experiences in the field of literacy education. We believe that your insights and expertise would greatly benefit our conference attendees, who are eager to learn from experienced professionals like you. We kindly invite you to consider presenting at the Dublin Literacy Conference, which will be held on February 24, 2024. Your presentation can cover a wide range of topics related to literacy, including but not limited to: Early Literacy, Science of Reading, Writing Instruction, Literacy Across the Curriculum, Technology and Literacy, and more! Complete this form by November 10 to be considered!
Maker Space
The Maker Space is available for staff to reserve as a workspace for classroom projects. There are a variety of consumable materials and tools for students and teachers to use that would support a classroom project. Teachers will need to oversee their own students during their reserved time. You'll see on the Maker Space Reservation spreadsheet the room is reserved daily from 12:45-1:15 and 3:10-3:30 Monday-Friday for students who record and produce DSNTV. Feel free to sign up for times on your own by typing your name into the open spaces. Reach out to Brandy with any questions.
Technology FAQ's
Feel free to add any questions or concerns in these two FAQ's. Our instructional coaches, secretaries, or Troy and Julie will work to get the support you need.

Talking to Kids About Tragedy in the News
The reality of being a parent in this world is that there are many, many things that are out of our control. A tragic event - who is involved, when and where it happens - are all details that are very much out of our control. When a major tragedy strikes it can have a big impact on even the people who are far away from the center of it. Something we do have control over is how we help our kids process and understand tragic events. It is far better for a child to hear developmentally appropriate information about tragic events from the people they feel safest with rather than hear it from others at school who could have inaccurate or partial information.
In terms of addressing tragedy that occurs in a school, there are ways we can reassure our children. It is helpful to remind children that events like this are still rare despite all that we hear about them in the news. We can also explain that people are working on ways to help prevent similar things from continuing to happen.
With the current world events parents often ask how to best support their kids. To learn more about how to best approach these tough conversations, check out the resources below.
