STUDENTS MAY BE DROPPED OFF NO EARLIER THAN 7:50AM! STAFF WILL GREET STUDENTS AT THE DOORS AT 7:50AM!

Minutos de Sra. Hutchins

Hello Fronteras Families!

A HUGE SHOUT OUT to our Student Ambassadors, Ruth Schweisthal and Kai Beck! Ruth and Kai presented Fronteras to the School Board Wednesday evening and wowed not only the Board Members, but the audience as well. Folks in attendance that were not associated with Fronteras, clapped and cheered after hearing Ruth and Kai address the Board and then took time to congratulate them in person afterward. If you’d like to see and hear Ruth and Kai in action, you can view the recorded Oct. 6th meeting under the School Board tab on the district website. To watch just the Ambassador’s presentation, scroll forward to about 1:11:00.

Thank You Bike Week Volunteers! Your time and attention to our students is GREATLY appreciated!

Next Friday, October 15th is the parent organized Trunk N’ Treat in the Fronteras parking lot 5:30-7:30pm. Thank you to all who are organizing and supporting this fun and safe event! This is an outdoor only event. There will be no access to the school building that evening.

**Fronteras will NOT have bus service NEXT Friday, Oct. 15th.**

Wishing everyone a fantastic weekend!

Mrs. Hutchins

a Beautiful letter from a grateful parent!

Acts of kindness unfortunately seem to be a rare occurrence anymore, but I wanted to give a shout out to the amazing kids and staff at this school. Since the beginning of school my kids have come home and told me on multiple occasions that other children and even older children in the school have helped them in one way or another. My older daughter was having trouble with her locker and another child just randomly came over and asked her if she needed help. My younger daughter has told me on 2 or 3 occasions where some of the older kids have helped her with her bike during bike week and I just want to say thank you and give a shout out to the parents and the staff and everyone that is fostering such a sense of community that is so needed nowadays.

Thanks again, I appreciate you and the staff in the school!

-Brenna Prestien

APC News!

Hello fellow parents!

Have you ever wondered what the Academic Policy Committee does at Fronteras? Well, let me tell you!

The APC has had the pleasure to award money to middle school students to help fund their immersion trip to Puerto Rico by way of the raffle tickets sold and other fundraisers that you awesome parents participate in and support.

We have also been instrumental in starting and continuing the Student Ambassador program at Fronteras in where 2 middle school students are selected (after an application and interview process) and represent our school in the community and at Fronteras to help others understand what it truly means to be a Phoenix and the benefits of language immersion.

If you are the parent of a middle school student and think your student would be an excellent Student Ambassador, please contact me and we can give them the details on how to apply.

Also, APC Board elections are approaching and we need you amazing parents to join us!

If you can commit to an hour and a half every other month during school months for a 2 year period, please fill out the application form available on the website at https://www.matsuk12.us/domain/3435, click on "APC Board Application".

We would love to have parents on our Board who want to continue to see Fronteras grow in a positive direction and who can bring their energy and enthusiasm to our meetings.

We hope to see you there!

-Jen Manion, APC Board Chair
