Music Association News

Please help me congratulate our Kimball Hill student, Finn Lockwood who performed at this year's Illinois Grade School Music Assosication's Solo/ Ensemble Contest. Finn performed an alto saxophone solo and received a 1/ superior rating! We are so proud of him!

Our students are collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald house charities as part of our Acts of Service monthly theme. If you are interested, please send your child to school with pop tabs. We will be collecting pop tabs until February 28th.

School Wide Monthly Celebration

If students meet this month's behavioral goal, all students will participate in Fort Reading within the classroom on Tuesday, February 28th. Students may bring a small blanket or small towel to be used; as well as a small stuffed animal. At this time, we are on track to meeting our goal. Students will find out this Friday.

Valentines Day Fun

Thank you to all of our Room Parents and our PTA for hosting such fun and intercative parties. Our students had such a blast!

Dine & Donate- February 23rd

Don't forget to order your bb.q chicken and 10% of your order will be donated to the PTA.

Dogs on School Property

As a friendly reminder, dogs are not allowed on school grounds. While I love seeing everyone's beautiful dogs, there are students who are allergic to dogs and also students that are very afraid of dogs. If you must bring your dog to pick up, please arrange a meeting spot with your child on the corner away from those being dismissed. Thank you for your support!

Registration 2023-24 IMPORTANT FOR ALL STUDENTS

Online registration through Infinite Campus is OPEN. EVERY student; new and returning, must register each year. It is extremely important that all families register as soon as possible and do not wait until the summer. Our staffing needs are determined by the number of students registered each year. Waiting to register right before school begins can cause changes to classes, changes in staffing and the need to re-section classes in order to balance classes. We kindly ask you to register as soon as possible. Thank you for your support!

Winter Gear for Recess

We kindly ask that you talk with your child to ensure they are leaving home with appropriate winter gear. All students are required to go outside for recess. Exceptions are made only when a child brings a doctor's note excusing him/her from outdoor recess. Please see our district-wide outdoor procedures below. If your child is in need of a winter jacket, please send me an email at lacamerm@ccsd15.net

  • Staff members provide playground supervision. If students are not following behavior expectations, a staff member will address the behavior with the student(s). Based on the behavior, the child may speak to an administrator.
Cold weather: Indoor recess is determined based on the following guidelines:

    • If the temperature outside, together with the wind chill, is below 0°F, all students will remain inside for the entire lunch hour.

    • If the temperature outside, together with the wind chill, is between 0°-10°F, the preferred procedure is a rotation of 20 minutes for lunch, a 20-minute outdoor recess, and a 20-minute indoor recess. However, at the principal's discretion, students may be kept inside for the entire lunch hour.

    • If the temperature outside, together with the wind chill, is above 10°F, students will have regular outdoor recess.
