BES Vision Statement: Building Exceptional Students
From the Principal:
This year has surely flown by. We've had a great year so far. There are a lot of activities planned over the next few months. Click on the calendar below to keep up with all the activities. I will keep the calendar updated if any changes occur.
The APEX Fundraiser is coming up this month. The is a great fundraiser for our school. The kids really enjoy the daily character lessons and then the fun run itself. Our goal is to raise $9000 for our school. We are able to use the money for teacher supplies, student awards, technology, computer programs and many other needs.
Our students recently participated in the Young Georgia Authors competition. Each school has a panel of judges who score the submitted writing entries. The winning entry for each grade level is then submitted to the county competition. Our school-level winners were: Owen Brown, third grade; Ansley Webb, fourth grade; and Carly Hogan, fifth grade. We are very proud of these three students.
As a safety concern, please make you are dropping off your students at the front of the school instead of the side entrance. The side entrance is closed from 7:00 until 8:00 for buses and then again from 2:00 until 3:00. Anytime you need to come into the school during these times, please follow the drop off route and then park in the front of the school. Our goal is to keep all students safe during these very heavy traffic times.
Below is a reminder of our schoolwide goals for this year. We are working hard to meet these goals. We discuss these goals in faculty meetings and in our weekly teacher planning sessions. We also have a data room where teachers review the data weekly.
Strategic Goal 1:
The percentage of students (all grades) performing at level 3 and 4 in ELA on the Georgia Milestones will increase by 10% during the 2022-2023 school year.
Strategic Goal 2:
The percentage of students (all grades) performing at level 3 and 4 in mathematics on the Georgia Milestones will increase by 10% during the 2022-2023 school year.
You can help us reach our goals by ensuring students are at school daily and on time. If your child is sick and stays home, please remember to submit a signed parent note or doctor excuse for our records.
Just a reminder of important March dates:
3/10: No School
3/13: No School
3/31: No School

Georgia Parent Health Survey
The Georgia Parent Survey was developed to measure parent perceptions of school climate at your child’s school. Your opinion is very important to us. Your survey responses are confidential and will be combined with the survey responses of other parents at your child’s school to identify areas in need of improvement. It should only take ten or fifteen minutes to complete the survey. Thank you for your time and participation.
