Mrs. Monday's Kindergarten News

From Mrs. Monday...

We had a fun College and Career Week! Thanks to everyone who participated in the dress up days. Ask your child about the Career Fair we had today.

I recently completed the middle of the year benchmark DIBELS testing. Results will be sent home soon. I am so pleased with the progress everyone is making. I saw huge improvements from the beginning of the year!

Have a great weekend!

PTO Friendship Party

Our PTO Friendship Party will be on Friday, February 12 at 3:10. The class will play games and do crafts. Parents are welcome to come and help out with the party. We need items for the treat bags. Please send in any donations by Wednesday, February 10. There are 24 students in our class. Ideas...stickers, bookmarks, pencils, rulers, small toys, fun erasers, etc.

Valentine Cards

Your child is welcome to send in valentine cards for the class. This is optional, but always very fun for kindergartners. A pink list was sent home on Monday. Please make sure your child brings their valentine cards to school before Friday or on Friday morning. We will be passing out valentine cards before the PTO party. If your child is bringing in cards, please make sure they have one for ALL students. Writing valentine cards is a great activity to practice handwriting, appropriate letter size, letter formation, and how to write names (don't forget to begin each name with a capital letter).

Donations Needed

Our class could use the following items sent in for upcoming activities. Thanks in advance for your donations!

  • Conversation heart candy (small valentine candy with words on them for a graphing and writing activity)
  • glue sticks (we are almost out!)

The January Book-It form is due on Monday! The February form will be sent home on Monday.

Please make sure your child is dressed for the weather each day (coat, hat, gloves). We go outside everyday at 11:40. Please make sure your child can put on and zip their own coat. You are also welcome to send in a chapstick that your child can keep in their art box or backpack to use as needed.
