This Week in ELAR
Reading STAAR is Tuesday, March 31st. We have been having awesome lessons! We had fun with dramas and reviewing all of our awesome reading skills! On Monday, we will have one last review day, which will include reading stations.
Please make sure that your child gets a great night's sleep on Monday night and maybe a low sugar, high protein breakfast!
We will also be learning about types of sentences--simple, compound, and complex. We will have an assessment on that the week after STAAR.
Please continue to make sure your kiddo is doing their daily reading log and logging at least 20 minutes of reading a day and completing iStation on Wednesdays! I have really enjoyed reading their logs each week and seeing their thought process!

Tuesday--Reading Log
Wednesday--iStation on home computer or iPad

This Week In Science
This week, we will continue to identify and compare the physical characteristics of the Sun, Earth, and Moon. Ask your kids to see the folder we are creating! It is so cool!
Learning Goals
- I can identify and compare the physical characteristics of the Sun, Earth, and Moon, such as surface, temperature, geological features, composition, and size.
I will differentiate between the Sun which is made of gases, and the Earth and Moon, which are made largely from rock.
I will explain how Sun and Earth have very different atmospheres, while the Moon does not have a significant atmosphere. Only the Earth has liquid water.
Essential Questions
What are the physical characteristics of the Sun?
What are the physical characteristics of the Earth?
What are the physical characteristics of Earth’s Moon?
