Sept. 3 Update: Community Transmission-HIGH LEVEL

NOTE: Monday, September 6th is Labor Day and all BCS offices and schools will be closed.

Face Coverings to Continue Week of September 7 for Berkeley County Schools

Today, September 3rd, the community transmission rate remains High. Per the Berkeley-Morgan County Board of Health (BCBH), face coverings will be required by all persons in Berkeley County Schools/Offices/Buildings next week, Tuesday, September 7th Sunday, September 12th. At this time, face coverings must be worn on school buses per federal requirement under the CDC regardless of transmission rate.

SUBSTANTIAL/HIGH: Universal face coverings for students and staff will be REQUIRED when levels of Covid community transmission reach levels designated as SUBSTANTIAL or HIGH.

LOW /MODERATE: Face covering will be HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for students and staff when the level of Covid community transmission is LOW or MODERATE while indoors and in areas where social distancing is limited.


BCS has created the 2021-2022 Covid-19 Communication page on the BCS website. It can be accessed from the home page under News & Updates. The number of positive Covid-19 cases will be posted by programmatic level to our Covid-19 Dashboard reflecting the number of positive cases received by the Covid-19 Tracing Team from Friday at 8 am through 4 pm the following Thursday. The BCS Covid-19 Dashboard will be updated each week on Friday.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Should staff or students be exposed or need to quarantine, you will be contacted by a BCS Covid-19 Tracer and/or school representative and be provided with follow-up health information for the close contact/positive case and household members.
