- It is a large turtle.
Why the Logger Head Turtle is Endangered
Only from about 1,000 to 10,000 baby turtles will become adults. When the Logger Head Turtle is born, there are many creatures that will try to eat it like ghost crabs and birds. If it gets to the water, there are sharks, fish and crabs waiting for a meal. Other reasons why they most likely won't become adults are that they will get stuck in trash or shrimping nets, plus they are hunted. Even though there is a law in the US that says people cannot hunt Logger Heads, people still do.
