Books that have been banned, or challenged, in libraries.
The Scoop
With freedom of speech, comes intellectual freedom. People have the right to read, or not read, materials. In many libraries across the United States, books are challenged for their content. Most libraries have a policy in place for when materials are being challenged, reconsideration forms are used in the process. In 2013-2014, 10 books were banned in Texas school districts.
