March 22: Find Movies by Searching a Description

In honor of Yahoo Day Eve, I thought it would be appropriate to share a resource that you might not necessarily use for work purposes. Ever have trouble remembering the name of a movie? Now you can search using details about the movie. Enter a title, actor, director, genre, topic, adjective, or any other detail you can remember to find titles that fit your criteria. I recently used a plain-language description to rediscover a few movies from my childhood and the site worked perfectly. You could use this search even if you don't have a specific title in mind. For example, if you were teaching a specific topic like the Civil War, you could simply search "Civil War" and see what movies might be worth incorporating into a unit.

Instructions

  1. Go to www.whatismymovie.com
  2. Enter a description of the movie you're looking for and click "Search" to see results.
