Drinking and Driving
THE PROBLEM:
Over billions of years drinking and driving has been a major problem nationwide. If you are intoxicated or plain out drunk, and then start driving, you are at a very high risk of getting into a vehicular crash. An easy way to avoid the drunk driving problem is if you are out at a party or gathering and there is alcohol if there is someone with you, ask them politely to drive home if they haven't drunken already. There is possible and very easy way to prevent a death or injury in a vehicular crash. Most drivers that have had something to drink have a low BAC, and very few of those drivers have been involved in a fatal crash.THE FACTS:
-The average BAC over severely injured drunk drivers is .16
-The relative risk of death for drivers in single-vehicle crashes with a high BAC is 385 times that of a zero-BAC driver and for male drivers the risk is 707 times that of a sober driver, according to estimates by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety
-Drivers with a high BAC are usually males, with ages of 25-35, who also have a history of DWI Convictions and polydrug abuse
THE SOLUTION:
There are a number of solutions to the drunk driving problem
1. Impound or confiscate license plates
2.Passing Mandatory alcohol and drug tests in fatal crashes
3.Expanding alcohol server training programs
I could go on and on about the different solutions of this particular social issue, but I need to get on with this flyer.;)
My MAIN POINT:
