BASA Takes Flight
The new school year has kicked off and Boynton Aerospace Science Academy (BASA) is back in full swing. The program has started a partnership with the Boca Airport that will allow our students to participate in the airport’s Master Plan update. This project will address the infrastructure and operational capacities of the airport as it prepares for the future. This partnership will include a host of activities between BASA and the airport management, government authorities, and private aviation contractors.
In addition, BASA is in the process of launching its first senior mentorship program. A large number of airline pilots, air traffic controllers, A&Ps, and other aviation professionals have signed up to mentor our students as they transition out of BBCHS and into the workforce or higher learning.
Lastly, BASA would like to congratulate our senior Ioan Constantin for passing his private pilot checkride on July 7! Ioan dreams of becoming an airline pilot one day and we have no doubt that his goal will soon become a reality. We congratulate him on this fantastic feat! Ioan is now working on his Instrument Rating at Lynn University College of Aeronautics. Safe skies and tailwinds, Ioan!
